Signing Event at DHAHC      Updated Thursday April 15, 2010

 

The 18th April is a signing event for Pilots and Navigators who flew during the war on operations and then became Test Pilots flying de Havilland aircraft.

Members of the ATA who delivered de Havilland aircraft from factories to operational stations.

Pilots and Navigators who flew Mosquito's during the war.

and Pilots who joined the RAF after the war who became Test Pilots and flew DH aircraft.

  Signing vouchers will cost £15.00 per item plus entrance fee

John 'Tommy' Thompson, RAF, ATA & Test Pilot. Started flying career August 1940

RAF 18 Sqd Blenheims 1941. Hampden's & Blenheim's. Test Pilot 1942. Whitley's Mk 1 to 5, Hurricane's, Hinds, Prefect's, Magister's, Lysander, Anson's, Horsa Glider, Harvards, Spitfire's Mk1, 2, 4, 5, 5a, 5b, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16,and 21 also Seafire's Mk 3, 15 & 17. 7th August 1945 Tommy left the RAF. During the 1970's when working for Hawker Siddeley Ron Clear and Tommy Thompson displayed the Mosquito

Joined DH Test Pilot Hatfield and Chester Test Pilot 1961/83 numerous types flown DH Sea Vixen, HS125, Comet 1A, 2, 4,
1985 and 1987 delivered two Mosquito B35's to the USA also flew RR299 at BAe.
