 End of 2009 Season

The season closed with results better than expected. We had a final boost to our takings thanks to a Veteran Mosquito Aircrew signing venue in October which will now enable us to proceed with our full winter programme of work.

First indications of the result of the 2009 season shows a 4% increase in admission income and an 11% increase in Aeroshop sales

During the closed period, site maintenance will be substantial ensuring a welcoming look by freshening up all signage, display boards, seating areas and selected buildings. Restoration on certain aircraft exhibits will be continued by our volunteer working members who have contributed so much towards the enjoyment of our visitors.

Plans for next season will include a new display, comprising a selection of exciting

paintings normally held in store.

A storyboard is being planned to introduce our younger visitors to ‘Women of the Air’ describing their great achievements as aviatrix in war and peace time

Our thanks are extended to all our visitors, especially the young mums with their children, giving us a chance to allow them to see, touch and even enter some of the aircraft.

At the same time may we thank all the ‘Friends of the Centre’ without whose continued support over the years the centre would not be able to operate.
