July 1948 - October 2009

It is with regret that we report the sad loss of Ray Gall.

Ray a former employee of de Havilland was involved in many aspects of the Heritage Centre. His scale aircraft modelling in the old model shop days, working on the Heron and latterly his invaluable work on the restoration of the Mosquito FB6.

Both the Mosquito Museum and Salisbury Hall had been a major part of Ray’s and his family’s life.  His mother Jacqueline gave guided tours of the Hall when it was open to the public.  His father, Alfred, was an early curator of the Museum, at that time owned by Walter Goldsmith.

Although Ray suffered virtually all his life with diabetes he always had time to talk to visitors about the exhibits at the museum.

He will be greatly missed by all his colleagues.
