News Update Comet Fuselage

Our famous Comet 1 fuselage has been looking absolutely awful for ages – a disgrace to the Museum. I wrote a begging letter to the MD of Air France to ask for some help, but did not even have the courtesy of a reply.

We decided to start work anyway and have cleared all around the fuselage and after a lot of work managed to get off the residue of the sealant used to seal her in the cacoon, which she arrived in. After some cleaning etc she does look a little more cared for.

As a result of the posting Bruce put on the Flypast Forum of our work on the Trident, a benefactor was so impressed he contacted Bruce and offered £10,000 if we would do the same to the Comet. Hopefully something can be done this coming year. Not before time.
