| Heron - Syd has been
very carefully looking after our lovely Heron and making sure that all the
visitors who wanted to see inside have been respectful. He also has kept the
windows cleaned, and the floor hoovered. We decided to put anti ultra-violet film on the inside of the windows – no one seemed to bother to use the blinds, which Peter had made. If we had not done this then all the new seat covers would have deteriorated with the sunlight and in no time would have been in rags again. Work finishing the Trident has delayed work on AREA, her control surfaces, which had all been recovered, just had to await drier weather before they were re-sprayed and refitted. |
| Dove 8 - AREA is now complete and looking very good, but does need a respray. Her paint has gone quite flat and dead. Philip has looked up a colour scheme, which she wore when flying for ‘our’ Company, so when time permits she will be re-sprayed in these colours of yellow, white and chocolate brown. Dove 6 - FSB has also had more attention. Her elevators and rudder were removed with much swearing – the hinge pins were so well rusted in. These surfaces have been stripped, and are now being recovered ready for re-fitting in the spring. Inside all has been removed and Peter and David have removed all the side cabin lining and are now replacing this, so she will soon look very tidy inside indeed. She also will need a respray in due course. |
