Bernie Vincent (left) and Martin Bull (right) reflect on their restoration of the Museum’s Airspeed Horsa glider. It is a challenging project, especially as the correct grade of plywood is both expensive and difficult to source. The particular cockpit we have at the museum was built during WW2 at the H. H. Martyn factory at Sunningend in Cheltenham. Over 3800 Horsas were made and used for invasion assaults, most famously at D-Day and Arnhem in 1944.
