MOSQUITO COCKPIT EXPERIENCE BRIEFING NOTES

All ticket sales help to support the de Havilland Aircraft Museum.

In order to safeguard the long-term preservation of these unique aircraft, cockpit experience ticket sales are strictly limited.

Although not an experience aimed at our younger visitors, children are very welcome. However, the recommended minimum age is 14 years. All children under 14 years must be assisted and supervised by their guardian throughout the experience duration. Children in the age range of 14+ must be able to access the cockpit unassisted if a guardian is not available to help them.

ACCESS DETAILS

Sitting in the cockpit of a de Havilland Mosquito is a once in a lifetime opportunity, we therefore recommend you’re fully prepared for the day. Please take note of our access restrictions before purchasing your cockpit experience tickets:

You must be physically fit to climb a small ladder and lift your legs and full body weight into the cockpit.
Please wear trousers or shorts. Skirts and dresses may prevent or restrict access.
Please wear flat shoes with a good grip. Please understand we cannot allow access if the appropriate footwear is not worn.
You are very welcome to take photographs once inside the cockpit. Please ensure your camera has a strap or can be zipped inside a pocket.
Mosquito cockpits are small and cramped spaces – please see width measurement photos below for your information.
If the Museum feels that it is not safe or possible for you to enter the cockpit, we reserve the right to refuse access.

WEARING OF FACEMASKS

While not mandatory, we advise you wear a face covering in our Mosquito cockpits unless exempt from doing so. You do not need to wear one outside of the cockpits unless it makes you more comfortable to do so.
